Color Palette: Neon and Neutrals

Nothing screams "fun party" more than neon! Paired with a crisp white, or a soft neutral, neons can be full of flavor and tasteful at the same time. Here are some of our favorite ways to pull this modern trend off for your wedding or event. Real Couple: Alex and Madison

I am so excited to be working with such a fun couple. Major props to them for figuring out a long distance engagement and taking the worlds cutest engagement photos!

Meet Madison and Alex!

1.     A little bit about her...

Madison Pulley. Accountant at Pride Energy in Tulsa, OK.  From Springfield, MO

2.     A little bit about him...

Alex Telarik.  Law Student at Wake Forest. From Tampa, FL

3.     How did you meet?

We met the very first night of freshman orientation at the University of Tulsa.  We lived in the same freshman dorm.  On the first night, our floor had a get to know you ice-breaker type game where we had to tape character names to our foreheads and had to guess who our character was by only asking yes or no questions.  He was Katie Couric and I was Goofy!

4.     How long have you been together?

Four years

5.     What is the main thing that each of you are in charge of for the wedding, planning wise?

I (Madison) am doing most of the planning since Alex is in law school all the way in North Carolina, but he is in charge of the groomsmen.

6.     If you had a “couple nickname” what would it be?

If you would ask our friends they would probably say "The All American Couple"

7.     What are your wedding colors?

Blush pink and silver

8.     Are there any fun details about your wedding that you would like to share?

I want to bring an Italian feel to the reception since that is where I studied abroad and Alex came to visit while I was there.  It was our favorite place we have been together!

9.     Groom, what are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?

Standing at the altar and seeing the most beautiful girl walk down the isle.

10. Bride, what are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?

Marrying my best friend and to see the look on his face when I walk down the isle.

Stay tuned to see more from their June wedding!

The heart of the matter...

I know that you have probably heard it a HUNDRED times by now from your parents, grandparents, friends, co-workers, neighbors... etc. but it's true. It isn't all about the wedding - it's all about the marriage

Does that mean you should settle for styles you don't like or forfeit any fun in your ceremony for more praying and more reading - of course not. It does mean though, that you should take a serious look at your relationship in all of its beautiful, messy entirety and talk about some stuff. It doesn't matter if you have been together for 123439856 years. It doesn't matter if you think you know all the dark and dirty secrets the two of you have.

Engagement is one of the most incredible time periods in life that you will ever experience. You are literally growing from one single person, to a two for one special. Let that sink in. You will never be in this state of life again (God willing).

In my personal experience, I didn't really think I "needed" pre-marital counseling. That was for troubled and unsure couples, right? FALSE. I can honestly say that I gained so much more from the discussions brought up, the topics covered, and the simple things shared than I ever thought I would. I grew closer to my now husband than ever before in the 2 previous years that we had been dating.

It wasn't because we had kept secrets, or not had meaningful talks. It was because we were actively pursuing a purposeful and meaningful marriage and engagement together. I can't say enough about the positive effects of walking though pre-marital counseling together. The peace, closeness, excitement, and joy are things that I deeply desire for every bride and every couple.

Because of that I am PUMPED to announce that we will be offering a $200 discount for every couple that is going through Christian pre-marital counseling and meets our guidelines for it. YES! That is HALF OFF two of our most popular packages! This is for real!

If you are interested in getting a copy of our guidelines or viewing our packages and pricing, then email me directly at abby@abbymitchellevents.com. I would love to work something out with you.

Party Element: Table Numbers

Did you know that we do graphic design too? We have created TONS of programs, invites, stationary, and table number templates over the years!

We picked out some great trends happening right now with table numbers and how to incorporate them into centerpieces, but this is one of my favorite designs we did for a wedding this fall.

Simple. Sweet. Easy to read.

Embroidery hoop numbers - cute, playful, adds a little heritage feel.

Moss number in a glass dome - fresh, chic, and easy!

Chalkboard paint vases/bottles/jars - creative, can be used with any flower type and any container.

Simple shape cut-out - pretty, basic, doesn't take away from design.

Spray painted pumpkins! - FUN, festive, unique, and the color options are endless!

If you are interested in using any of our design or styling services like graphically designing table numbers then shoot us an email! We would be happy to help in any way we can.

DIY: Valentine's Notes

There's nothing better than receiving a homemade card on V-Day.

Okay, depending on my hunger, level Mac 'n Cheese casarole may or may not rank above this...OR a brownie hot fudge sundae with marshmallow cream.

EITHER WAY - We all love heartfelt homemade cards on love day! I have been busy at work making a few of my own to send to family and friends. Here is a quick pic of one that I love.

I hope you have a blast making and receiving some fun valentines this year!
XOXO, Abby
