Real Wedding: Megan and Tyler's Reception

Most people don't know how much time and effort goes into a tent wedding; it is really a labor of love and can take a village. However, once they come together, they are the perfect setting for a fun and laid back reception. The bride's request for vintage and glamorous touches were the perfect pairing to making this outdoor tent reception fabulous!

The looks on Megan and Tyler's faces in this first photo says it all. Enjoy Mr. and Mrs. Henry's reception!

What’s the one décor aspect that you most loved and will remember?
I love the vintage/elegant look. I wanted a lot of vintage looking décor but also for it to look elegant at the same time. I didn’t want it to look overly country. I loved the chandeliers in the big white tents, as well as the mercury glass and all of the lace. It gave it a charming feel. I will never forget how pretty it was having the white lights and candlelight at night in the big white tents in the middle of the field. It looked awesome!

What was your first dance song, and why?
We chose the song “Take My Hand” by Emily Hackett and Will Anderson. We love this song because it is sung from both a guy and girl’s perspective. Our relationship came so easy and strong feelings happened so fast for us. We are perfectly content with each other and our relationship makes us feel like we have all we need. That is why this song just fits us.

Real Wedding: Megan and Tyler's Ceremony

Who can resist a wonderful and sentimental ceremony that truly celebrates the bride and groom and their loved ones? Certainly not us! Every detail behind Megan and Tyler's ceremony had meaning and purpose behind it. What a beautiful way to honor the union of two families!

Did you choose to do any memorable events or traditions within your ceremony?
One memorable event in our ceremony was having 6 kids come down the aisle. We had an adorable ring bearer and flower girl, along with my cute cousin pulling a wagon full of 3 babies. The kids did such a great job. All of the babies were adorable and the good news is that none of them cried! It was more perfect than I anticipated.

What was the most sentimental part of your ceremony?
The most sentimental part of our ceremony was when my dad handed me over to Tyler after walking me down the aisle. I’m so close to my dad, even more so since my mom passed away of cancer 3 years ago. I know it was hard for my dad, but it is funny how things work out. My dad got remarried last year to a wonderful woman who happened to be the matchmaker of Tyler and me. With that being said, God has a way of showing us He knows what He is doing, even though 3 years ago it was hard to see that. When my dad handed me over, the look on Tyler’s face was priceless, and I felt such a peace in knowing I was about to marry the man God chose for me.

Why did you choose the ceremony space that you did?
We chose Springhill Baptist Church for our ceremony space because it was not too big of a church, but also not too small for our large wedding. Church and our faith are very important to us,  so having it at our church worked out perfectly.

Real Wedding: Megan and Tyler's First Look and Portraits

Welcome to Megan and Tyler's Wedding Week! We were so honored to be part of this wonderful couple's big day. You might remember their beyond adorable engagement photos (and gorgeous ring shots!). They are so obviously  in love and looking forward to spending their lives together you can't help but smile just looking at them. We are still obsessed with Megan's incredible bridal gown and hair and make-up from A Valeria Boss Salon. I mean she's one hottt P.E. coach!! Have fun looking at their first look and portraits from Jennifer Campbell Photography!

What one portrait would you choose to put above your mantle?
Any of them… The one I have on canvas right now is the picture where he is kissing me and I’m looking down and also the one where he is dipping me in the field.

If you could change one thing about your wedding day, what would it be?
Tyler and I probably would have made sure we ate food. We had already told ourselves that we were not going to get caught talking before we had a chance to eat, but we did. We should’ve made ourselves go sit down and eat. It is hard when so many people keep coming up to you and you feel bad just leaving them. Needless to say, we did get free Wendy’s at the drive thru later. haha

What was your favorite photo location, and why did you choose it?

We had most of our photos taken at Fellows Lake. We loved this location because it was shady and pretty, and on top of that, it was the most perfect weather we had had in at least 2 months. There weren’t other people around either because it isn’t an extremely popular lake. We also got very fortunate that it was around 70 degrees and no wind. I also loved that it was less than a mile from where my house was, which was where everyone was getting ready. That made it very convenient and not a hassle for people.
